General Francis Nash & Raleigh Chapters' SAR Oratory Competitions
Governors Club11000 Governors Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27517, USANorth Carolina SAR Oratory Contest Chairman Lowell Hoffman kicks off the 2023 Rumbaugh Competition The General Francis Nash and Raleigh Chapters will hold their joint Joseph S. Rumbaugh Historical Orations Competitions on Saturday, March 16th, from 9:30 AM to 12 Noon at Governors Club in Chapel Hill.
Hear 9 gifted young Orators and be inspired. Following the Competitions will be the General Francis Nash Chapter Meeting and SAR Oratory Contest Awards Luncheon, where the Chapter winners will be announced and repeat their Orations. Since GFN and Raleigh are the only NC Chapters conducting Oration Competitions, a State Panel of Judges will then announce the North Carolina SAR Oratory Contest winner, who will go on to participate in the National SAR Oratory Contest, which concludes at the SAR National Congress in July.

While there will be complimentary scones, fruit, coffee and juice for the morning session, there will be a charge of $25/person for the buffet luncheon.
