Blue Ridge Chapter July 2026 Activity

Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, it later became the Blue Ridge Chapter and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On July 4, 2026, in the Beech Community 4th of July parade in Weaverville, North Carolina, Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guardsmen Mark Canter and Bob Wood served as Color Guard. Their service was in collaboration with the DAR Ruth Davidson Chapter. Mark was in Continental attire, and Bob was in Militia attire. Crowd was estimated at between 400 to 500 people in attendance for this Patriotic event.

On July 4, 2026, in Brevard, North Carolina, during the Transylvania County 4th of July Celebration, Blue Ridge Chapter Compatriot Larry Chapman read a portion of the Declaration of Independence.

 

On July 4, 2026, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Color Guard marched in the 4th of July Henderson County parade. Blue Ridge Color Guard members were Jeff Brewer, Brett Callaway, John Crotts, Ron Chapman, Craig Issacson, Garry Linton, Don Narup, Jack Tate, and Steve Watkins. Attendance reports of 5,000 to 8,000 people were in attendance for this Patriotic event.

On July 4, 2026, at the Asheville Tourists Baseball Game in Asheville, North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Chapter presented colors during the National Anthem. Blue Ridge Chapter members were Brett Callaway, John Crotts, Craig Issacson, Garry Linton, Steve Watkins, and Bob Wood. An estimated 4,000 people were in attendance for this Patriotic event.

At the National Sons of the America Revolution National Meeting in Greensboro, North Carolina, Blue Ridge Chapter members were involved in the following acts of service: On July 10, 2026, at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, Garry Linton in a Militia uniform was present for the grave markings of the 5 Patriots who were honored. Crowd was estimated at 200 people. On July 11, 2026, at the Alamance Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, Jack Tate in a Continental uniform was present for the grave markings of the 5 Patriots who were honored. Crowd was estimated at about 250 people. On July 11, 2026, at the Hillsboro Old Town Cemetery in Hillsboro, North Carolina, Jack Tate in a Continental uniform was present for the grave markings of the 5 Patriots who were honored. Crowd was estimated at 250 people. On July 11, 2026, at the Sheraton Hotel at Four Seasons in Greensboro, North Carolina, Brett Callaway worked at the desks. On July 12, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, Brett Callaway serve as Bus Captain. On July 12, 2026, at the Sheraton Hotel at Four Seasons in Greensboro, North Carolina, during the Rumbaugh Orations, Garry Linton was in a Militia uniform and presented colors for this event. On July 15, 2026, at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park in Greensboro, North Carolina, Jack Tate in a Continental uniform was present for the grave markings of the 5 Patriots who were honored. Also, during this event, Craig Issacson, David Linton, and Garry Linton assisted with the grave markings by escorting guests, setting up sources of water, etc. Crowd was estimated at 400 people.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy Chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy all the freedoms we have today.
