Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, it later became the Blue Ridge Chapter and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On September 10, 2026, at the Dry Ridge Museum in Weaverville, North Carolina, Blue Ridge Chapter President, Garry Linton, (dressed in colonial period civilian attire) provided a program on The Liberty Tree and What Means for Us Today. The 20 folks who were in attendance at this event were captivated by Chapter President Linton’s presentation.

On September 12, 2026, the Blue Ridge Color Guard presented colors in a commemoration of the Battle of the Black Hole in Franklin, North Carolina. The event was hosted by the Western Waters Chapter, NCSSAR. Davy Arch, Beloved Man of the Cherokee represented the Cherokee Nation at this ceremony. Blue Ridge Color Guard members who participated included: Brett Callaway, Craig Issacson, Garry Linton, and Don Narup. About 20 people attended this event.

On September 17, 2026, at the Old Hendersonville Courthouse, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guard presented colors for the Constitution Day ceremonies. The Abraham Kuykendall Chapter of the DAR hosted this event. Color Guard members who participated included: Jeff Brewer, Craig Issacson, Garry Linton, Don Narup, Jack Tate, Steve Watkins, and Ken Weglarz.  About 20 people attended this event.

On September 18, 2026, at the Federal Courthouse in Asheville, North Carolina, the Blue Ridge Color Guard presented colors for the naturalization of several new United States citizens. Color Guard members who participated included: Craig Issacson, Garry Linton, Don Narup, Tom Wrightmyer, Steve Watkins, and Ken Weglarz. There were about 100 people in attendance to support these new Americans.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy Chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy all the freedoms we have today.
