Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, it later became the Blue Ridge Chapter and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On June 26, 2026, in Weaverville, North Carolina, NCSSAR Chapter President Garry Linton (dressed in colonial period civilian attire) provided a program on “George Washington, his Compatriots, and the Nascent American Revolution to the 30 people in attendance at the Dry Ridge Museum. Many of those in attendance, were captivated by the presentation of this program.

On June 30, 2026, at the Asheville Museum of History Talk in Asheville, North Carolina, NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter member Craig Isaacson presented a program on the Broken Links in the Chain: Critical Battles in the Carolina Backcountry. Many of the 27 people in attendance were introduced to previously unknown Carolina history of the American Revolution.
