The BETHABARA CHAPTER and the NORTH CAROLINA SOCIETY SONS of the AMERICAN REVOLUTION (SAR) Invite you to attend the 244th Annual COMMEMORATION of the BATTLE of the SHALLOW FORD 11 am, OCTOBER 12th, 2024 HUNTSVILLE, NC
The annual commemorative ceremony will be held at 11 am at the old historic Huntsville Methodist Church, 4214 Mt. Sinai Drive, Huntsville, NC, followed by lunch at the Battle Branch Café, 2505 Farmington Road, Huntsville, NC 27055. Please register for wreath presentations and Color Guard by October 8th, 2024.
The Halifax Resolves Chapter will be marking the graves of two Revolutionary War Patriots, Samuel Webb Smith and Chesley Daniel in Granville County on October 26, 2024.

The North Carolina Brigade of the Society of the Descendants of Washington’s Army at Valley Forge and the General Francis Nash Chapter NC SAR invite you to a Grave Marking for Mathew McCauley. Mathew McCauley was 27 when he enlisted as a Lieutenant in the 10th North Carolina Regiment in July 1777. He joined Washington’s Main Army and trained at Valley Forge. As the North Carolina Line reduced in numbers, McCauley moved to the 6th North Carolina Regiment and was promoted to Captain in the summer of 1778. He was at the battle of Briar Creek (March 3, 1779) and mustered out in the Fall of 1779 when the 6thNorth Carolina Regiment was disbanded. He went on to serve in the Militia in Hillsboro.
