General Francis Nash and Raleigh Chapters' Rumbaugh Competitions

The GFN and Raleigh Chapters’ Joseph S. Rumbaugh Historical Oration Competitions will be jointly held at Governors Club in Chapel Hill on Saturday, March 11. The timetable for the day is:9:00 am Continental Breakfast (Juice, Coffee, Tea, Scones, and Pastries)
9:45 Oratory event begins
12:00 GFN Chapter Meeting and Rumbaugh Awards
Five competitors from GFN and four from Raleigh will compete to be the Chapters’ competitors in the State competition. The audience will be witnessing gifted and courageous young men and women and their focus on a person or event of the American Revolution.
Mention SAR Rumbaugh to the Governors Club Gate Attendant for entry and driving directions to the Club House.

General Francis Nash Chapter Meeting, Luncheon, and Rumbaugh Awards

The next General Francis Nash Chapter meeting and luncheon will follow the morning Rumbaugh Orations Competition, and will start at noon on Saturday, March 11, at Governors Club in Chapel Hill. The meeting will feature Orations from the GFN and Raleigh Chapter winners, and awards presentations.This will be a well-attended event with Orators, Parents, Rumbaugh supporting teachers, SAR Members of other Chapters, NC SAR officers, DAR guests and a handful of others. GFN members will be invited to serve as Table Hosts to both welcome and share the story of SAR and America 250. We will welcome back our 2019 NC and National 2nd Place Winner Ms. Riley Shaner, now an English and Speech teacher at Seaforth HS who has motivated 2 of her students to enter this Rumbaugh competition. How is that for confirmation and inspiration?
Cost for the buffet lunch is $25 per person.
