Raleigh Chapter Annual Picnic Gala

is inviting you to attend our Annual Picnic Gala!This year, the picnic will be held on June 15th, at Lake Crabtree, 1400 Aviation Parkway, Morrisville, NC 27560, at high noon. This will be rain or shine, as this is a sheltered picnic area. There’s also a horseshoe pit beside it! We will be catered by the locally famous Sam Jones BBQ. Our Keynote speaker will be the renowned Chris Grimes, as he delves into medical practices of the Revolutionary Period, with his extensive collection of equipment. All members of Patriotic Societies are encouraged to participate, as well as any guests you wish to bring. Dress is casual.

Commemoration of The 244th Anniversary of The Battle of Ramsour's Mill

Catawba Valley Chapter of the SAR would like to invite you to the Commemoration of the 244th Anniversary of the Battle of Ramsour’s Mill to be held on Saturday, 22nd June 2024 in Lincolnton North Carolina.
On Friday evening 21 June 2024, there will be a reception at the Hampton Inn in the conference room for all members of the visiting SAR, DAR, and guests. The Commemoration and Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held Saturday, 22 June 2024 beginning at 10:00 am. The ceremony will occur at the mass grave located at Battleground Elementary School, 201 Jeb Seagle Drive, Lincolnton, North Carolina, 28092. In addition, there will be a living history encampment with various demonstrations including cooking, storytelling, singing, camp life, 18th Century medicine, militia drill, and living off the land across the street near the cabin afterward, and on Sunday, 23 June, in conjunction with the Lincoln County Historical Association and various reenactor groups. All members are encouraged to visit the camp on either or both days.
