Patriot Isaac Carter Chapter - Chartering Ceremony
Havelock Tourist & Event Center201 Tourist Center Drive, Havelock, NC, United StatesThe NCSSAR will be chartering its newest chapter on September 3, 2016. This will be an historic event because the Patriot Isaac Carter Chapter will be the SAR’s first predominantly African-African chapter and its first chapter to be named after an African-American Patriot!

We know that you will want to be with us to celebrate this historic event, but space will be limited. Also, remember that this will be Labor Day Weekend and Havelock is only a half-hour from North Carolina’s Crystal Coast, so motel rooms will also be in short supply — so reserve your seats and motel rooms early!
Tickets are $25 and include a buffet supper of Good Ole Eastern Carolina Pork BBQ and Fried Chicken with all the fixings (cole slaw, potato salad, hushpuppies, banana pudding, pecan pie, and iced tea)! Any questions, please contact Guy Higgins at or call 252.327.7752.

Halifax Resolves Chapter Meeting
The Halifax Resolves Chapter NC SAR will meet at 6:30 pm, Wednesday, September 14th at the Halifax United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 150 S. King St., Halifax, NC The guest speaker will be NC CAR President Mary Lee Howell.
A meal will be provided at the cost of $10.00 per person. An RSVP is required NLT noon on September 12th. Contact Chapter President Ken Wilson or Chapter Secretary/Treasurer Steve Avent if you plan to attend.

Patriot Monument Unveiling Ceremony in Charlotte
Old Settlers' Cemetery200 W Trade St, Charlotte, NC, United StatesThe Mecklenburg chapter SAR and the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence chapter DAR invite you to attend a historical marker unveiling ceremony for Patriot Ephraim Brevard beginning at 10:30am at the Old Settlers’ Cemetery, 200 W Trade Street, in Uptown Charlotte 28202. Please park on the street located all around the cemetery. Patriot Brevard was an author and signer of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, a Captain at the Battle of Moore’s Creek Bridge, a prisoner of war in Charleston and a surgeon with the 1st North Carolina. To participate in the Color Guard, please contact Dave Alls at .
Immediately following the ceremony, the Mecklenburg SAR chapter will be sponsoring a lunch at Big Ben Pub, 2000 South Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Please RSVP for the lunch to . Lunch will be ordered from the menu and you pay as you order!
