On Thursday evening, November 16, 2023, Mark Pace, vice-president-elect of the Halifax Resolves Chapter presented a lecture to a large group on John Penn, one of the three North Carolina signers of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.  He appeared in colonial dress in the persona of John Penn and presented an approximately 45-minute program of interesting facts and information not only about John Penn but also his role as a delegate from North Carolina to the convention. It was very well received and was part of an annual Lecture Series sponsored by the Tar River Center for History & Culture in the Norris Theatre at the Jones Performing Arts Center on the campus of Louisburg College.
