The New Bern Chapter-SAR, Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter-DAR, and St. Johns Masonic Lodge #3 cordially invite all to join us for a Liberty Tree Dedication Ceremony.

The Town of River Bend will be having a Liberty Tree dedication ceremony on March 26th at 12 pm. at 51 Shoreline Dr, River Bend NC, The Liberty Tree will be part of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR) Liberty Tree Project that aims to plant 250 Liberty Trees nationwide by July 4, 2026, honoring the 250th anniversary of the U.S. This initiative, launched in 2023, commemorates the original Boston tree, a symbol of colonial resistance, by placing trees and educational plagues in communities to honor Revolutionary Patriots.Participating in the River Bend dedication will be the New Bern Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), the Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and St. John’s No. 3, Masonic Lodge (Chartered 1772). The New Bern SAR Chapter Color Guard is planning to perform a “live fire musket volley” as part of the ceremony.
