The 242nd Anniversary of the Battle of Kings Mountain Friday, October 7, 2021 at 11:00 am Kings Mountain National Military Park Blacksburg, SC
All SAR, DAR, C.A.R. and other patriotic and lineage societies & chapters are invited to participate in the annual commemorative ceremony. To register your chapter or organization, click on the link below NO LATER THAN THE END OF THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2021 to allow the National Park Service to prepare for the ceremony. The commemorative ceremony will be held at 11 am at the old historic Huntsville Methodist Church, 4214 Mt. Sinai Drive, Huntsville, NC.
Immediately following the ceremony there will be a grave marking ceremony for 3 Patriots of the American Revolution, followed by a luncheon to be held at the Battle Branch Café, 2505 Farmington Road, Huntsville, NC 27055, followed by a social hour at Old Nick Williams Distillery, 2627 Williams Road, Lewisville, NC.
Please register for wreath presentations and Color Guard by October 1st, 2022.

The Bethabara Chapter NC SAR will mark the graves of 3 Patriots at the Lenoir-Clingman Family Cemetery in conjunction with and immediately following the annual Battle of Shallow Ford Commemorative ceremony that will begin at 11am on October 8.
The 3 Patriots are: 1) Jane Pattillo Lanier Poindexter (1760-1826; and her two husbands; 2) Col. Robert Lanier (1746-1785); and 3) Capt. Francis Poindexter 1764-1803).
This small family cemetery is located directly across the road from the newly acquired 248 acre property what will some day soon become the Shallow Ford State Historic Site.

The Halifax Resolves Chapter NCSSAR will mark the graves of 3 Patriots at the Allen & Coley Cemetery near Stem in Granville Co., NC on October 15 at 10:00. The Patriots are Sgt. William Allen (1763-1843); Ensign Archer Johnston, 1735-1813); Pvt. John Cassion Whitfield (1743-1832).

Compatriot Alford was a member of the Mecklenburg Chapter and is buried at the Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg, NC. The ceremony will begin at 2:00.
