William Lee Davidson Chapter, Sons of the Revolution in NC, are co-sponsoring a joint grave marking ceremony for Patriot General Robert Irwin, signer of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence. The ceremony begins at 10:30am at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, 7407 Steele Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28217. Color Guard members are encouraged to attend. Please RSVP to Gus Succop at or Dave Alls at . General Irwin was the first state senator elected from Mecklenburg County.
There will be a lunch at Jim ‘N Nicks Restaurant, 13840 Steele Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28278. The restaurant is located 6 miles south of the church on Steele Creek Road.
Compatriot Grave Marking
165 Justice Branch Rd, Enfield, NC 27823, USAThe Halifax Resolves Chapter NC SAR will conduct a grave marking ceremony for Past NC SAR President Dr. Ralph Hardee Rives on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Dr. Rives was a member of the now defunct Rocky Mount Chapter and served as the NC SAR President from 1972-1974. He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, 165 Justice Branch Road, Enfield, NC 27823.
