Grave Marking RSVP

The Halifax Resolves Chapter NC SAR will meet at 6:30 pm, Wednesday, November 9th at the Halifax United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 150 S. King St., Halifax, NC.  This will be our Annual Meeting.

A meal will be provided at the cost of $10.00 per person.  An RSVP is required NLT noon on November 7th.  Contact Chapter President Ken Wilson or Chapter Secretary/Treasurer Steve Avent if you plan to attend.

Grave marking ceremony for Patriot John Harden (Patriot ancestor of Mecklenburg chapter member Wallace Smith) beginning at 10:00am in Chester, SC, at Old Purity Presbyterian Church Cemetery.Old Purity Cemetery is located just south of Trinity Presbyterian Church at 673 Great Falls Highway in Chester, SC 29706. We will be eating lunch “dutch treat” at The Front Porch restaurant, 3072 Lancaster Hwy., Richburg, SC 29729. The restaurant is at Exit 65 right off I-77.

Cemetery Directions from I-77 North (Rock Hill or Charlotte), take I-77 South to exit 65. Turn right at top of the ramp onto SC Hwy 9. Proceed on Hwy 9 approximately 12 miles to the first traffic light at Hwy 72 Bypass. Turn left onto Hwy 72 bypass and proceed to Hwy 321 South, approximately 1 mile. Turn left onto Hwy 321 South. Proceed to Hwy 97/Hwy 321 split, approximately 1 mile. Turn left onto Hwy 97 South. Proceed on Hwy 97 approximately 1.25 miles. Church and cemetery are on the left, just past Chester Regional Medical Center.

Cemetery Directions from I-77 South (Columbia), take exit 55. Turn left at the top of the ramp onto SC Hwy 97N. Continue on Hwy 97 approximately 11 miles. Church and cemetery are on the right.
