2016 Kings Mountain Invitation

SAR, DAR, C.A.R. and other patriotic and lineage societies & chapters are invited to participate in a formal wreath laying ceremony at the United States’ Monument.   Participants presenting a wreath must deliver it to the Visitors Center no later than 9:00 am on October 7^th for labeling and transportation to the monument.  Transportation will be provided for those needing assistance to the monument.  Continental, militia or period attire is encouraged.

Please complete and return the registration form provided above and no later than Saturday, September 24^th for the registration to be included in the printed program. Registration forms should be returned to Doyle Campbell at either: or 1407 Merrimount Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086 . 

ALL SAR MEMBERS MUST CHECK IN AT THE REGISTRATION DESK UPON ARRIVAL

The Bethabara and Yadkin Valley Chapters, North Carolina SAR, invite you to participate in the 236th Anniversary of the Battle of Shallow Ford beginning at 11:00am at the Huntsville Methodist Church, 4214 Mt. Sinai Drive, Yadkinville, NC 27055.

After the ceremony, a luncheon will be held across the street at the Battle Branch Cafe, 2505 Farmington Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055.

Please register for the Color Guard and wreath presentations by October 1st.

Everyone is invited to attend our chapter’s meeting at Hanover Seaside Club at 601 South Lumina St, Wrightsville Beach.

The Mecklenburg chapter, North Carolina SAR, the Major William Chronicle chapter, North Carolina DAR, and the Smith Cemetery Historic Preservation Association invite you to attend the grave marking for two (2) Revolutionary War Patriots, Matthew Armstrong and Matthew Leeper. The ceremony begins at 10:30am. Contact Dave Alls at  to participate in the Color Guard. The best GPS address for the cemetery is 100 Belwood Drive, Belmont, NC 28012. The cemetery is located directly across the street from this address.

The Battle of Kings Mountain Chapter is sponsoring a grave marking ceremony for Patriot COL William Graham in Kings Mountain. Save the date!

The following is the Directions to the Archibald Graham Cemetery where his son William Graham SAR marking will be done

From Kings Mountain go west on Highway 74 until you get to South Post Road or 180 turn Left on 180 at the Stop Light. Go south on 180 go by the Pinnacle Charter  School on the Right. Keep going South on 180 until you come to the
intersection of 226. Go Left on 226 or  Earl Road  continue to go South on 226 past Ingles Supermarket on the left to Patterson Springs until you get to Lowery Store at the Stop Light continue on 226 or Cleveland Avenue to the left.
Go past the Patterson Springs Church on the Left     continue on 226 toward Grover NC. You will see Brookfield Drive on the Left. Turn Left on Brookfield Drive continue on Brookfield Drive until  you see Ponder Road on the Right
Turn right on to Ponder Road Continue on Ponder Road  a little ways Cemetery is off Ponder Road or 2209
