During the January chapter meeting, the Halifax Resolves Chapter recognized three Halifax County Deputy Sheriffs with SAR Law Enforcement Commendations.  The recommendation for the award was made by HCSO Chief Deputy Scott Hall.  The citation accompanying the award read as follows:

“On December 7, 2021 Sergeant Michael A. Bishop, Corporal Casey U. Sherrod and Deputy Michael A. Casey answered a call together concerning a man armed with a firearm wishing to harm himself. Sgt. Bishop, along with Sherrod and Casey developed a plan of action to disarm the man safely. The three deputies executed the plan and in fact disarmed the man without injury which has allowed the individual to enjoy another holiday season with his family.”
