Catawba Valley Chapter conducted their bimonthly meeting on 11 September 2021, the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on America. Our speakers yesterday were Lynne Smith (William Gaston DAR) and Brent Wallace. Both Lynne and Brent are America Airlines Flight Attendants, who were employed with the Airlines at the time. Brent was in Manhattan at the time of the attack. It was an emotional and highly moving program. Thank you so much to Lynne and Brent for being with us on that awesome day, and for reminding us that the NYPD and FDNY were not the only or even the first of the heroes on that unbelievable morning.
A Certificate of Appreciation was given to the owner of Palermo’s Family Italian & Greek Restaurant in Conover NC for allowing us to have our meetings there for more than a year.
