Catawba Valley Chapter had the honor of participating in the 132nd annual Old Soldiers Reunion parade on 19 August 2021. We participated all day long, beginning with a speech by the National Commander of American Legion Mr Bill Oxford of Lenoir NC and the laying of wreaths. Commander Oxford is only the 3rd National Commander to come from NC. We marched, and finished off the day with a float in the parade. We finished up just moments before a driving rain storm. This was our first experience with the creation a float and we learned a lot. A special THANK YOU to our Vice President John Jay Cline for providing the trailer to build a float on and to Bobby Allison for being our driver and Charlaine Setser for taking photos.
