With the Tryon Palace as a backdrop, on 7 May, New Bern SAR Chapter President, Bob Ainsley, inducted Ernest “Ernie” Richardson, III and William “Lou” Osborne into the Sons of the American Revolution.  Also in attendance for the induction, was the New Bern Chapter Color Guard, Jay DeLoach (NCSAR President), Sims Wayt (Regent of the Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution), other New Bern Chapter members, and other friends and family members.  Ernie Richardson’s Patriot Ancestor is Adam Stonebraker, who served at the rank of Corporal under Capt William Heiser, Lt Col Ludwig Weltner, German Regt.  Lou Osborne’s  Patriot Ancestor is Nathaniel Burwell, who served at the rank of ENS in the 1st Regt, and Captain in the 1st Cont Artillery and Major as Aide-De-Camp to General Howe.
