On October 2, New Bern Chapter President Jay DeLoach conducted a virtual induction of Compatriot Kevin Jennings on the grounds of Patrick Henry National Memorial in Brookneal, VA.  The location has an interesting connection between Kevin and Jay.  Kevin and his wife Ellen relocated back to his hometown of Brookneal earlier this year.  Kevin’s Patriot Ancestor William Jennings was born and raised in the local area and served in the Amelia County militia of Virginia during the American Revolution.  Patrick Henry, Virginia governor and “Give me Liberty or Give me Death” orator, passed away at his Red Hill plantation in Brookneal.  Patrick Henry is Jay’s 4th great-grandfather.  Pictured from left to right:  Kevin’s sister and DAR member Bonnie Rosemond; wife Ellen Jennings; author and re-enactor Jenny L.
