On March 11, New Bern Chapter President Jay DeLoach, visited Mrs. Kimberly Cromer’s 3rd grade class at AH Bangert Elementary School. Dressed as Captain John Paul Jones, he had a very lively interactive discussion with the students on the Boston Massacre, George Washington, John Paul Jones, and other American Revolution stories. Mrs. Cromer was the winner of the American History Teacher Contest in the Elementary School category for the North Carolina Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. She will go on to compete nationally later this summer.
