Local SAR Knight Essay Winner Announced
The Halifax Resolves Chapter, NC Sons of the American Revolution has selected an essay written by Taylor Dinota, a junior and AP History student at Nash Central HS, as the winner of this year’s contest. Ms. Dinota’s essay was entitled “The Life of Thomas Jefferson During and After the Revolutionary War”. The essay will now be sent forward to the state level competition. In recognition of her efforts, Taylor received a Chapter Level Winner’s Certificate, an Olympic style medal and a check for $100.00.
Also, there were four Honorable Mention essays from this AP History class. Laura Schrama, Abbygail Cook, Rachel Winston and Jadyn Hinton were all recognized with Honorable Mention certificates.
Mr. Renny Taylor, Nash Central HS AP History teacher, was recognized by the Halifax Resolves Chapter for his support of the Knight Essay contest with a Certificate of Commendation.
The awards were presented by Halifax Resolves Chapter Knight Essay Chairman Ken Wilson.
