Ken Wilson, a member of the Halifax Resolves Chapter of the NC Sons of the American Revolution, recently visited the 5^th grade students at Belmont ES to present the SAR Americanism Poster contest for 2019.  The topic will be a Patriot from the Revolutionary War.  Wilson explained that the individual they picked could be someone who fought in the war or someone who supported the war.

The SAR Americanism Poster Contest is conducted annually in the 4^th & 5^th grades to encourage the students to study our nation’s history.  The chapter winner will be selected March 13^th at the Halifax Resolves Chapter meeting.  The NC winner will be selected in May following the Patriot’s Day ceremony at Alamance Battleground.  The National SAR winner will be selected at the SAR National Congress in July.
