On Wednesday, May 30th, two members of the New Bern Chapter of the NC Sons of the American Revolution participated in the Havelock High School Naval JROTC Awards Ceremony. Rear Admiral Jay DeLoach, US Navy (Retired), Chapter Vice President, presented the SAR Bronze JROTC Cadet Medal to Cadet Ian Ramirez-Gomez for outstanding citizenship and leadership. Rolf Maris, Chapter President, also presented the Sons of the Union Veterans Medal to another Cadet for their excellence in leadership, citizenship, and patriotism.
