Halifax Academy 5^th grade student Madelyn Wommack’s poster on the Battle of Moore’s Creek Bridge placed 2^nd at the state level contest conducted by the North Carolina Sons of the American Revolution.  For her efforts, she received a check for $100.00 as did her teacher Mrs. Lindy Rogerson.  The awards were made by Halifax Resolves Chapter President Ken Wilson.
