On April 20th, Gary Gillette, NCSAR New Bern Chapter Registrar, and American Legion Post 539 member, presented “SAR Certificates for US Flag Retirement”, to the American Legion Post 539, and two of its members, for their recent participation in a Flag Retirement Ceremony. The Certificates were presented “in recognition of service to the community for the proper retirement of unserviceable US flags.” Pictured below are Liz Hartman, the American Legion Post 539 Commander, receiving the Post certificate, and Dick Seal and Gary Gouadace, receiving their individual certificates.
