The Halifax Resolves Chapter NCSSAR recently held their annual Americanism Poster contest that revolved around the theme of  a Revolutionary War event.  A combined total of 37 posters were submitted by Manning ES and Halifax Academy.  This year’s winner was Liam Cooke, a 5^th grade student at Halifax Academy.  His poster covered the events in Halifax during the war.

Liam received a winner’s certificates and a check for $100.00. His teacher, Mrs. Valerie Henley received a certificate of appreciation and a check for $50.00.  His poster will now advance to the state level contest.  The judging will be held at Alamance Battleground during the Patriot’s Day activities on May 14^th. The presentations were made by Halifax Resolves Chapter President Ken Wilson.

Liam is the son of Lindsee and Robby Cooke.
