Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, it later became the Blue Ridge Chapter and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On October 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Polk County, North Carolina, the Blue Chapter of the NCSSAR honored the Earle’s Ford Monument. Listed below is the whole story as was told by Western NCSSAR VP Craig Issacson:

The following Blue Ridge members helped with or participated in this solemn program:

David Linton and David Gallentine helped with general duties, set up/break down traffic, and the crowd. Ron Chapman read his poem, “Blood Gift.” Tom Rightmyer served as Chaplain. Craig Issacson served as MC. Craig Issacson and Garry Linton dedicated the monument. Color Guard members included: Brett Callaway, Larry Chapman, John Crotts, Ron Chapman, Craig Issacson, Garry Linton, Brian McCall, Ken Weglarz, and Bob Wood.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy Chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy all the freedoms we have today.
