The Orange County Historical Museum sponsored a spirited and well-attended (despite the heat) celebration of the Sestercentennial of the North Carolina Third Provincial Congress in Hillsborough on September 6.  This Congress began self-government in North Carolina, after Royal Governor Josiah Martin was effectively deposed and exiled to a British warship off the coast.  The General Francis Nash Chapter hosted an information table outside the Historic Courthouse, with help from Past NC SAR State President Steve Van Pelt, and visits from Current NC SAR State President Stephen McKee and several other chapters.  Traffic at the table and the area was frequently too much for pictures, but here’s a representative sample.

At the Library, GFN Rumbaugh Chairman Guy Guidry hosted Rumbaugh Oratory competitors reprising their orations, and Rod Mullen spoke about his Patriot Ancestor.
