Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, later became the Blue Ridge Chapter, and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On November 4, 2023, at the Old French Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery which is now a private family cemetery in Hendersonville, North Carolina, at 11:00 a.m. the Blue Ridge Color Guard presented colors for the Grave Marking Ceremony of Patriot James Andrew Miller. Born in 1750 and passed in 1808 Patriot Miller served in the militia and was honored by Compatriot Ron Chapman who is the Co-Chair of the Grave Marking Committee. Once again Tom Long recited the famous On Hallowed Ground tribute that honors all of our Patriots. Also, DAR members Connie Isaacson & Julia Greene rendered their honors to Patriot Miller. There were 10 people in attendance for this solemn event. In a special way to honor Patriot Miller, all Color Guard members were dressed in Militia uniforms.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy all the freedoms we have today.
