Steve Greene, Vice President of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, by a special school invitation, addressed 460 students in an all-day event at the Madison County Middle School in Marshall, NC on Veterans Day 2022. Steve’s program focused on the meaning of true patriotism and who the NCSSAR are as a patriotic group.

In addition to the 460 seventh and eighth-grade students, Lt.Col. Toube Roy (Commander of the Madison High School JROTC), and the Madison County High School JROTC Cadets. The audience included the school principal, school staff members, and approximately 20 community veterans representing the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force.

The presentation was a joint effort between the Blue Ridge Chapter NCSSAR and the Rebecca Sevier Waddell DAR Chapter from Madison County, NC. The DAR was represented by Regent Julia Roberts Greene who also addressed the assembly.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.
