New Bern Chapter Members Serve as Docents as Part of Partners in Patriotism

Members of the Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter – Daughters of the American Revolution and New Bern Chapter – Sons of the American Revolution, participated in a “Partners for Patriotism” event serving as docents at the William Hollister House, 613 Broad Street, New Bern, NC as part of the 2022 Heritage Home Tours sponsored by the New Bern Historical Society (NBHS) during 8-9 April 2022.  A Certificate of Appreciation and 250th Sestercentennial Pins were presented on 9 April 2022 to the owners Rachel Hall and Bill Cobb by Bob Ainsley, President, New Bern Chapter and Sims Wayt, Regent, Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter, respectively. Some of the docents pictured are (left to right): Charlotte Brady, Sims Wayt, Gary Gillette, Tammy Gillette, Paul Higbee, Louise Higbee, Bill Cobb, “Atticus,” Rachel Hall, Betsy Cozelman and Bob Ainsley.  Other DAR, SAR and NBHS members that served as docents at the Hollister House were: Scott Brick, Ed “Rusty” Stinson, Lee Purcell, Rolf Maris, Becky Preece, Kathy Murphy, Beth Rankar, Lorrie Hagy, Sandy Hendershot, Donna Stebbins, Bev Ellis, Elinor Wilson, Linda Cummings, and Susan Lucas.
