Catawba Valley Chapter closed out 2021 with Wreaths Across America at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, N.C., on December 18th. We had to work between rain showers. The rain stopped just in time to lay the wreaths, then began again for the commemoration, which had to be moved under shelter. Chapter President, Ben Setser read the Proclamation handed down by President General, Davis Lee Wright and was later interviewed by WLOS Channel 13 Asheville News and appeared on their news broadcast that evening. Last year we were only able to place a wreath on 1 of every 5 graves. With the great effort exerted by everyone involved, this year we had enough wreaths to place one on every other grave. It was a great day indeed. You should have been there!
