It is my pleasure, as the President of the Sandhills SAR Chapter, to award Mike Fusselbaugh the Bronze Roger Sherman Medal and Certificate for his active and sustained Outstanding Service to the Sandhills SAR Chapter.   Bruce Fensley – Sandhills SAR Chapter -President

Sandhills Chapter Secretary, Mike Fusselbaugh has done an outstanding job leading up to obtaining our SAR Charter in 2020 and tirelessly served our chapter as an outstanding Secretary for these past two years.

Mike received his SAR Certificate October 2019. Shortly after, Mike attended one of our Chapter Forming meetings at the Table on the Green Restaurant and volunteered to help us achieve our Sandhills SAR Charter.  During the next year, Mike worked closely with the North Carolina Society Parliamentarian to create and establish all the required SAR chapter documentation for us to properly function as a SAR Chapter.

Since achieving our charter, 1 year ago, Mike has worked tirelessly to maintain our Chapter Roster, process all area Compatriots completing their SAR Membership transfers to the Sandhills Chapter, and documenting all the minutes for our chapter meetings. In Fact, just like tonight, Mike organized all of our quarterly dinner meetings with very successful enjoyable results.

Last Fall, Mike volunteered to become the Sandhills Committee Chairman for the 240th Anniversary of the House in the Horseshoe Battle Event. This was the first Patriotic event sponsored by our new chapter. Mike worked closely with NC Society Officers and the House in the Horseshoe Ranger to establish all the details of our plans. On August 6th, our 240th Anniversary of the House in the Horseshoe Battle event was conducted In-Person and Virtually, and was considered a huge success. Mike’s Outstanding organizational skills and creative thinking made us all proud to be members of the Sandhills SAR Chapter.
