During the 11 October Craven County Veterans Council (CCVC) meeting, Gary Gillette, NCSAR Veterans Committee Chairman, New Bern Chapter Registrar, and Chairman of the CCVC, had the honor of meeting Congressman Greg Murphy, when he spoke with Council members regarding current and upcoming legislation, which may affect our veteran community. Congressman Murphy represents the Third District in NC, and serves on the House Veterans Affairs Committee in Washington, DC. Council members were very pleased that Congressman Murphy took time out of his busy schedule, to attend the meeting, and discuss various Veteran related issues and concerns. Also in attendance, were Robert Webster, Vice President of the NCSAR New Bern Chapter, Tammy Gillette, Chairperson of the Veterans Committee for the Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter of the DAR and Sims Wayt, Regent of the Richard Dobbs Spaight Chapter of the DAR.
