New Bern Chapter Presents SAR Enhanced Outstanding JROTC Cadet Award

On December 19, the New Bern Chapter of the NC Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) presented the SAR Enhanced Outstanding JROTC Cadet Award to Cadet Annie Anderson of the Pamlico High School Naval JROTC unit during their Change of Command and Award Ceremony. Cadet Anderson, who was promoted to the unit’s Chief of Staff during the ceremony, maintains a 4.4 GPA, ranks #2 in her Junior class of 111, serves as Vice President of her Junior Class, and plays varsity basketball and volleyball. Her aspiration for college is to win an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Along with a medal on a neck ribbon, Cadet Anderson was presented with at check for $100. She will now go on to state-wide competition with her academic record, school accomplishments, and essay entitled “How JROTC Has Prepared Me to be a Better Citizen of the United States.”
