Madison Elias of Roanoke Rapids authored the winning entry in the National Sons of the American Revolution Sgt. Moses Adams Memorial Middle School Brochure Contest.  Her winning brochure was written in support of the U.S. Constitution.  As an 8th grade student last year, Madison had five topic choices for her brochure; the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights or the Federalist Papers.  The hard work paid off for Madison as recognized by her winner’s certificate and a check for $350.00 from the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.  As the winner of the Halifax Resolves Chapter contest she received a check for $100.00 along with a certificate.  At the North Carolina SAR level of the contest she received a check for $250.00 for her winning entry.  Madison is the daughter of Artie and Paula Elias of Roanoke Rapids.
