The first General Francis Nash Chapter meeting of 2023 will be February 4, at the Colonial Inn in Hillsborough, starting at 11:30 a.m.
Our speaker will be Courney Smith, Events and Exhibits Coordinator at the Orange County Historical Museum. Courney is a fantastic speaker. So, mark the date!!!
The Elizabeth Montfort-Ashe Chapter NCDAR and the Halifax Resolves Chapter NCSSAR will co-host a General George Washington Birthday Luncheon on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:30 am at Littleton Food & Spirits, 235 North Moseby Ave. in Littleton, NC 27850. The guest speaker will be Dr. Troy Kickler, Founding Director of the North Carolina History Project and Editor of NorthCarolinaHistory.org.
Dr. Kickler holds an M.S. in Social Studies Education from North Carolina A&T State University and a Ph.D. in history from the University of Tennessee. His dissertation was “Black Children and Northern Missionaries, Southern Conservatives, Freedmen’s Bureau Agents, and Freedmen in Reconstruction Tennessee.” He has taught at the University of Tennessee, Barton College and North Carolina State University.

The Summer BOM Meeting will be held at the North Carolina State University Club, 4200 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27606. With concerns over COVID-19, there is ample space to spread out to maintain social distancing. Face masks are encouraged and there will be ample hand sanitizer available. Please RSVP by Monday, August 15. For those attending in person, lunch will be a Deli meat and cheese buffet.
