The 250th anniversary (Semiquincentennial) in 2026 marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, celebrating the nation’s founding and the Revolutionary War. Honoring revolutionary ancestors acknowledges their sacrifices for liberty, connects generations to America’s heritage, and highlights diverse, personal stories.
Now is the perfect time to join the Lumber River Chapter of the Sons of American Revolution. We represent Robeson, Scotland, Hoke, Columbus and Bladen Counties. For more information contact me.
We meet on the forth Tuesday of even-numbered months. Any interested person is invited to attend, and we are always looking to add to our membership. If you have an ancestor who served as a patriot in the American Revolution or otherwise provided support to the patriot cause, we would love to meet you. For more information contact President Blake Tyner at 910-827-5504 or .
