  • New Bern Chapter Shares Booth at Mumfest with the DAR

    In spite of the wind and the rain, the New Bern SAR Chapter, and Richard Dobbs Spaight DAR Chapter, had a very successful weekend, sharing a booth at the New Bern Mumfest. The Revolutionary War uniforms are always an “eye catcher”.

    Saturday, 9 October, the Commemoration of the 241 anniversary of the Battle of Shallow Ford in Huntsville NC took place. There were several good speakers, and our Chapter Chaplain, Ken Luckey, received his von Steuben award. It was a great morning!

    Catawba Valley Chapter had the pleasure on September 25th to join other compatriots and historians in the 241st anniversary of the Overmountain Men crossing the Watauga River at Sycamore Shoals in Elizabethton TN in route to destiny at the Battle of kings Mountain.
