Halifax Resolves Member Presents Colonial Music Discussion

Halifax Resolves DAR Chapter Regent Roberta Josey and the ladies of the chapter recently hosted a member of the Halifax Resolves SAR Chapter as their guest speaker. Rev. Charles DuRant, a recent Halifax Resolves SAR chapter inductee, presented an enlightening program entitled “Music of the Colonial Period.” The history of such Colonial songs as Yankee Doodle, Chester, The British Grenadiers, The Liberty Song, and God Save the King were discussed and portions of the songs were played. Rev. DuRant was assisted by Compatriot David Gammon.

The Halifax Resolves SAR chapter presented a program on Colonial music to the Halifax Resolves DAR chapter in Roanoke Rapids, NC on September 12 2015.
