Blue Ridge August 2024 Activity
Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, later became the Blue Ridge Chapter, and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.
On August 10, 2024, the Blue Ridge Chapter meeting was held at Mills River Park in Hendersonville, North Carolina, in a picnic/social format. This well attended event had much food, fellowship, and everyone had a good time.
On August 17, 2024, Blue Ridge chapter member and Western Region Vice President Craig Issacson attended the Summer Board of Managers Meeting Raleigh, North Carolina.

On August 22, 2024, at the Mars Hill NC Rotary Club, Blue Ridge Chapter Vice President Garry Linton present an educational program on “George Washington & the Early Phase of the American Revolution to 18 Rotary members.
On August 25, 2024, the Transylvania 250th Committee presented a program commemorating the 250th anniversary of North Carolina’s First Provincial Congress at the Silvermont Mansion in Brevard, North Carolina. Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guard members presenting the colors were Larry Chapman, Craig Issacson, Dave Gunther, Jeff Brewer and Ken Weglarz. Blue Ridge Chapter member, (Author) Ron Chapman was the keynote speaker. The Brevard Mayor and the Transylvania County Commission Chair added their enlightening comments to this event. Of the 42 folks in attendance were members of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy all the freedoms we have today.
