Summer 2025 BOM
The Summer 2025 NC SAR Board of Managers meeting was held at the NC State University Club on September 20. A Candidates Forum began the meeting, with many General Officer candidates in attendance or sending a video, seeking NC Society endorsement. Lunch followed, and then the usual Business Meeting, including Officer and Committee Reports and plans for the 2026 SAR National Congress in Greensboro. State President Stephen McKee presented his Strategic Goals & Objectives:
NC SAR Goal #1: Prepare for the 250th Anniversary
- Objective 1A: Execute the 2026 Congress – Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with style and Patriotism
- Objective 1B: Each chapter conduct at least one Revolutionary War presentation/event to the public annually
- Objective 1C: Increase Color Guard members to 25% of membership
- Objective 1D: Conduct at least one grave marking in each Chapter annually
- Objective 1E: Award 250th Medals and pins to non-SAR members
NC SAR Goal #2: Grow the State Membership to 2000 members by 2030 (Recruit, Retain, Reinstate)
- Objective 2A: Increase State membership by 75 new members annually through recruitment activities at commemorations/events, DAR collaboration, and advertising in various media
- Objective 2B: Establish 1 new chapter annually
- Objective 2C: Retain 95% of membership
- Objective 2D: Conduct membership development through training and engagement
- Objective 2E: Conduct a Reinstatement campaign to re-engage inactive members from last 10 years
NC SAR Goal #3: Enhance our SAR-DAR-CAR Partnership
- Objective 3A: Provide Color Guard support to DAR/CAR activities
- Objective 3B: Reciprocate with DAR/CAR to recruit new members
- Objective 3C: Collaborate with DAR/CAR chapters at local schools
- Objective 3D: Participate in Constitution Week activities
- Objective 3E: Invite DAR/CAR to Chapter grave markings.
