The 236th Anniversary of The Battle of Eutaw Springs will be held on Saturday, September 9th. There will be a 10:00 a.m. patriotic service at the Historic Church of the Epiphany in Eutawville followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the battle monument site in the Eutaw Springs Community. A ladies luncheon will be offered at Camellia Manor in Holly Hill along with a lunch at Sweatman’s BBQ at 12:00 noon. There will be an honor guard and wreath laying ceremony at Gen. The next New Bern Chapter meeting will be held on September 9th at 11:15am, at the Savages Woodburning Pizzeria, 303 Metcalf Street in New Bern. Members and guests are welcome! Lunch (Dutch treat) will be available immediately after the meeting. Also, the installation of our newest member, Jay DeLoach, Rear Adm, USN (Ret), will be held after the meeting at the Tryon Palace. Please stay after the meeting and join us for the installation ceremony.
The Halifax Resolves Chapter will meet at 6:30 pm Wednesday, September 13th, in the Fellowship Hall of the Halifax United Methodist Church, 150 South King St., Halifax, NC. A meal will be served at a cost of $10.00/person. An RSVP is required NLT noon on Monday, September 11th. This will be a business meeting to include the nomination and election of new officers and discussion on the progress of the Youth programs.

This will be a business meeting in which the slate of new officers will be elected. The installation of the new officers will occur at the chapter’s annual meeting in November with NC SAR President SMS George K. Strunk, USAF (ret.) in attendance.
The Mecklenburg chapter will welcome special guest Revolutionary War Cherokee Chief Attakullakulla on September 14, 2017 in Charlotte, NC at the Hilton Charlotte Executive Park Hotel. Attakullakulla was the Peace Chief of the Cherokee Nation from about 1754 until his death (ca.1780-1783). He was called the “most important Indian of his day.” He was trained to become a leader among the Cherokee people.
Adult tickets are $27 each and children are $15 each.
Attakullakulla is portrayed magnificently by Captain Robert K. Rambo (USA, Ret.), who earned his BA (History) from the Virginia Military Institute, his teacher certification (History) at UVAWise, and his M.A. (US History Cherokee Studies Program) at Western Carolina University. His research centered on Attakullakulla during the 18th century.
This special American History and Revolutionary War event in Charlotte is perfect for all ages, groups, families and anybody who loves American history!
