The Halifax Resolves Chapter of the NC Sons of the American Revolution recently announced the winner of the American History Poster Contest.  This year’s topic was an event immediately preceding, during or immediately following the American Revolution.  There were 148 entries from 3 elementary schools. The winner was Emersyn Boerner, a 5^th grade student from Halifax Academy.  Her topic was the Halifax Resolves.  Emersyn received a chapter level winner’s certificate and a check for $100.00.  Her teacher, Ms. Valerie Henley, received a check for $50.00.  The poster has been submitted to the state level contest for consideration.
