On December 15, compatriots of the New Bern Chapter of the NC Sons of the American Revolution participated in laying wreaths at the New Bern National Cemetery as part of the Wreaths Across America event. The New Bern Chapter was a co-sponsor for this national event and collected donations to fund 246 wreaths. Although it was a rainy day, it didn’t stop the community from attending and supporting the event. For the first time ever, a wreath was placed on every gravestone (6,772) in the New Bern National Cemetery. A wonderful way to honor all the Veterans resting there.
