On November 3rd, two of the newest “Junior” members of the New Bern Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) were inducted into the organization. Caden Danielson (12 years old) and his brother Chase Danielson (10 years old) of Tampa Florida were sworn in by their grandfather, Gary Gillette, SAR New Bern Chapter VP and Registrar. Their “Patriot Ancestor” was Aaron Gillett, who was a Private in the Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution. As “Junior” members of the SAR, the boys will be able to attend Chapter meetings and events, and learn about their ancestors and the system of representative government and participatory democracy that they fought to create.
