Recent Blue Ridge Chapter Activities

Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, it later became the Blue Ridge Chapter and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On December 27, 2024, at the Brevard Davidson River Presbyterian Church in Brevard, North Carolina, Blue Ridge Chapter Compatriot Larry Chapman presented Eagle Scout Awards to six deserving Scouts. All of these scouts belong to Troop 703 which is sponsored by the church and is one of the oldest active troops in Transylvania County.

On January 17, 2025, the Color Guard of the Blue Ridge Chapter, NC Sons of the American Revolution participated in presenting the colors and provided a wreath at the Battle of Cowpens commemoration in Cowpens, South Carolina. Color Guard members who participated in the 20-man Color Guard included: Craig Isacson, Garry Linton, and Brian McCall. There were about 100 people who attended this historic event.

 

On January 25, 2025, in Huntersville, North Carolina, the Color Guard of the Blue Ridge Chapter participated in the combined Color Guard that presented colors in the commemoration of the Battle of Cowan’s Ford. Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guard members in attendance included Craig Issacson and Garry Linton.

The Blue Ridge Chapter also provided a wreath for the event. Craig Issacson rendered honors on behalf of the Mountain Region, NCSSAR, and Garry Linton rendered honors on behalf of the Blue Ridge Chapter. There were about 120 people in attendance for this commemoration.

After the event, Craig Issacson, Garry Linton, and David Linton then attended the Board of Managers Meeting.

It is easy to see that the Blue Ridge Chapter is an active, energetic, busy chapter that is always looking for new members to help us reach our challenging goals for the recognition of the sacrifices our Patriots made for us to enjoy all the freedoms we have today.
