During the April 23^rd NC SAR Annual Meeting in Greensboro, Halifax Resolves Chapter Chaplain Emeritus Reverend Duncan H. Jones was one of two members selected to become Honorary George Washington Fellows.  The state society will donate $1,000.00 in the name of each individual to the National SAR George Washington Endowment Fund that supports various national and state projects.

Halifax Resolves Chapter President Ken Wilson presented the award to Reverend Jones at his home with his family present.  The citation read as follows:

“Duncan Haywood Jones is awarded the NC SAR Honorary George Washington Fellow.  Acknowledgement is hereby made by the North Carolina Society, Sons of the American Revolution for selfless dedication and outstanding support of the cause and mission of the SAR.  The SAR is indebted Compatriot Jones for his many contributions, leadership and inspiration to the Society.”
