Blue Ridge Chapter Past President Steve Greene
Chartered 21 April 1928 in Asheville, North Carolina, it later became the Blue Ridge Chapter and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.
It is with deep sadness that the Blue Ridge Chapter is announcing the passing of Steve Greene, 77, of Marshall, North Carolina, who passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025.
Steve was a Blue Ridge Chapter member since 2011 and last served as the Chapter President, finishing his term in December 2024. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Communication Operations Specialist and Security Services. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Mars Hill College and a Master of Divinity Degree as a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was the President of Old Buncombe County Genealogy Society in Asheville, North Carolina. He retired as a Clinical Chaplain from the State of North Carolina Department of Corrections. He was also a minister in numerous churches in North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, and Oklahoma. He worked with community home care, hospice, and hospital chaplaincy for many years. For the past four years, Steve has been the Pastor of the Grandview Baptist Church in Marshall.
The Blue Ridge Chapter members will certainly miss all the wisdom, the information sharing, and dedication that Steve had to the Sons of the American Revolution and the Blue Ridge Chapter.
