Chartered 21 April in Asheville, North Carolina, it later became the Blue Ridge Chapter and is the oldest active Chapter in Western North Carolina.

On April 3, 2025, at the Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock, North Carolina, the NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guard provided a display about the SAR and the daily rations the Patriot army had to survive on to about 50 college students. NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter Color Guard members Craig Issacson, Garry Linton, and Tom Rightmyer were well received by the students.

On April 12, 2025, the NCSSAR Blue Ridge Chapter meeting was held at the J&S Cafeteria in Asheville, North Carolina. Previous meeting minutes were acknowledged and accepted, Historian’s report read, Registrar’s report entered into the record. Jack Tate was inducted as a new member, and Gary King and Jack Tate were welcomed into the Color Guard. Gary King, by unanimous vote, has now become the new Chapter Treasurer.

Compatriot John Lafferty presented a compelling program on how the Scots-Irish came to be and how important they were in the winning of the Revolutionary War.

The Battle of Earle’s Ford Marker in Polk County North Carolina will be dedicated in October 2025. NCSSAR will cover the $1400.00 budget shortfall for this marker. Buncombe County has awarded a grant for Liberty Trees to plant several hundred trees throughout the county. Garry Linton is a member of the Buncombe County committee and will represent the SAR and the Blue Ridge Chapter. DAR member Becky Wood is also on this committee.

In addition to the $100.00 subsidy NCSSAR offers, the Blue Chapter will also offer a $100.00 subsidy to all new Color Guard members. David Linton developed a new reference guide for Americanism points.
